Planning Commission

The Planning Commission has the power necessary to enable it to perform its functions and promote municipal planning.  The Commission shall have and perform all of the functions of the Zoning Commission provided for in Chapter 89, RSMo., and has the power to perform all functions of a Planning Commission as outlined in said Chapter.

Duties Include:

• Review and make recommendation on
  • Zoning
  • Development plans
  • Subdivision plats
• Zoning and subdivision text amendments
• Adoption, periodic review and update of the City’s Master Plan
• Other related planning and zoning activities

Meetings

The planning commission holds meetings as deemed necessary.

Agendas & Minutes

Agendas are available prior to meetings.  All meeting agendas are posted no later than 24 hours prior to the meeting. Minutes are available following approval.

Members

The Planning Commission consists of five citizen members, a member of the Board of Aldermen and the Mayor.  Members are appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Board of Aldermen.  Members of the Planning Commission serve four year terms.  The Mayor and the member from the Board of Aldermen serve terms concurrent with their terms of office.

Qualifications

Planning Commission members must be residents of the City of Rock Port.
