Health Board

The Board of Health has the power to enter into and examine any and all buildings, lots and other places of every kind and description which, in the opinion of the Board, may be dangerous to the public health.  The Board has the power to declare and abate nuisances found within the City in the manner provided by the City Code, State law or City ordinances, rules or regulations.

Meetings

The Rock Port Health Board meets as requested when health concerns or other nuisances are presented to the Board.

Agendas & Minutes

Agendas are available prior to meetings.  All meeting agendas are posted no later than 24 hours prior to the meeting.  Minutes are available following approval.

Members

The Health Board consists of the Mayor, the City Health Officer and one other member, or however many the Mayor deems necessary.  All members of the Health Board must be residents of the City of Rock Port.  The Mayor serves on the board concurrent with his/her term in office.  All other members of the Health Board serve for two year terms.

Qualifications

Health Board members must be City residents.
